Birra dell’Anno is the most important and the longest-running craft beer competition in Italy, organised by the Italian craft brewers association Unionbirrai. Started in 2005, the award attracts thousands of Italian craft beers judged over the course of three days by an international panel. The 2021 edition was a pivotal one: the first after the pandemic that hit hard the craft brewing industry, leaving breweries struggling to find their way in an uncertain environment.
Signalling a shift, promoting positive thinking towards the industry’s future and creating a set of visual assets that truly help breweries communicate the value of their products; these were all key elements of the brief.
We designed a twisted banner with custom typography to convey the energy of the Italian craft beer market, a mark of quality and a symbol of the hard work of participant brewers.
The logo is accompanied by a handy style guide to help breweries correctly apply the trademark on pack and marketing materials.
