2020 has ground the world to a halt, hospitality being among the worst hit industries. Several small businesses had to quickly adjust to these unprecedented circumstances and find flexible solutions to keep trading, shifting their core sales from on to off premises. Little Swift is specialist bar on Margate seafront, popular with locals and tourists alike. The enviable location overlooking the harbour and the beach had always guaranteed them a steady business. After being forced to temporarily close the bar, they shifted their focus on building a more comprehensive drinks offer for take away consumption, alongside a deli selection of the very best British cheese and charcuterie.
The first step was to increase the visibility of their high street shopfront, signalling the new shop guise of the business. We built the wording wonderful drinks and deli provisions to cheerfully sum up the broad selection of take away goods. This was incorporated on vinyls on their windows together with their signature swift icon and a sea wave motif, all in the brand’s flagship peach colour.
Then we developed a packaging system to suit the variety of containers and wrappers that they carry. We worked on two slightly different die-cut strip labels borrowing colours from the brand’s catchy palette. The subdued branding allows hand writing whilst staying true to the brand. The swift icon lent itself to be scaled as a pattern on the colourful tissue paper used for gift bottles.
