Unionbirrai is the association of Italian independent craft breweries, promoting and safeguarding quality beer and providing craft brewers with a unified voice. Following the lead of similar foreign associations, Unionbirrai decided to create a seal to help consumers identify which breweries are independent and craft.

Following an analysis of existing similar marks, we designed a plaque that highlights the words “indipendente” and “artigianale” with a custom made lettering inspired by old Italian typography. The brewing kettle is a universal and inclusive icon that instantly links to breweries, whilst the claim “Una garanzia Unionbirrai” certifies it’s the association itself that guarantees all users of the mark follow a strict disciplinary. The seal comes with a handy style guide that will help breweries with the correct application of the trademark on pack and marketing materials.
